The Warsaw district court held that Moscow has to pay rent for the building, used by Russian embassy
Russia will have to pay almost two million of Euro because it did not have a valid contract for renting a building for its embassy. According to Warsaw City Hall, there was no contract for rent during 2012-2015. The Russian Federation representatives did not show up at the hearing.
Last month, the Warsaw authorities also claimed more than EUR 3.5m for two more properties used by Russians.
The conflict over embassy buildings has a years-long history. More than ten years ago Russia demanded from Poland to pay the rent for its' embassy building in St Petersburg. Since then, the countries exchange with claims.
