Video game screenshot posted as proof of extremists in Aleppo

On May 12, the Embassy of the Russian Federation to the United Kingdom tweeted that the extremists near Aleppo were supplied with several trucks full of chemical weapons.

The tweet was accompanied by an image in which the internet users recognised a screenshot from the popular strategy video game Command & Conquer: Generals.

The image of three green military trucks was published with the following text: "Extremists near Aleppo received several truckloads of chemical ammo."

The users of the social networks ridiculed the unfortunate post and added a number of other ‘evidence' in comments under the Russian Embassy's tweet.

Aleppo, the largest city in Syria, has been the scene of the fiercest fighting in the ongoing war. More than 29,000 were killed in the city and its surrounding area since 2012.
