Torrential rainfall in Odessa caused flooding

Over 50 transformer substations which serve 2040 private houses and 62 apartment houses were disabled in Odessa because of heavy rainfall.

More than 101 mm of precipitation per square meter fell during 24 hours (one millimeter of precipitation is one liter of water per square meter). It's two monthly norms of precipitation. A windstorm knocked down about 70 trees.

Work is underway on the restoration of routes of city electric transport. 

Last time such rainfall was recorded 129 years ago – in 1887.
