19 percent of Ukrainians were denied visas in 2015
Almost one in five Ukrainians applying for a visa to the United Kingdom gets a denial. This is according to a Facebook post on the official page of the Ukrainian Embassy in the UK .
"For a comparison, in 2012 visa denials were two times less. Of course, we are agitated by such statistics" – statement reads.
The Embassy of Ukraine states the most common reason for refusals is the lack of a full set of documents provided to the U.K. Consulate. There is also an increase in fake documents provided in order to obtain visa.
"Military actions in eastern Ukraine are not promoting visa facilitation. Moreover, British as well as Europeans are more cautious when it comes to visa matters in light of the on-going migration crisis in Europe and a threat of terrorist attack", - as further explained.
According to the statistics, in 2015 fewer Ukrainians applied for Schengen visas than in the previous years. In 2015 the level of visa refusals had grown for Ukrainian citizens. Poland's Consulate in Vinnytsia recently denied 12 percent of applicants. Seven other diplomatic institutions report nearly five percent refusal rate.
