Aviation agreements with four European countries ratified by Ukraine's parliament

The Ukrainian parliament gave a majority vote for the governmental agreements on mutual air traffic with Greece (279 votes), Cyprus (269), Hungary (243) and Poland (272).

The documents were adopted within the framework of Ukraine's participation in the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation of 1944.

"The ratification will ensure a reliable legal mechanism to intensify interstate relations, promote cooperation in the aviation field, establish business contacts and further expand the geography of Ukrainian airlines' flights", Deputy Infrastructure Minister Dmytro Rozenko declared during the Verkhovna Rada session.

MPs of the Parliamentary Committee on European Integration stated that such bilateral agreements will be a step forward to join the European common air space and broaden opportunities for both Ukrainian and European carriers on mutual aviation markets.

Previous arrangements of the Ukrainian government provided for signing the agreement with the E.U. on common aviation area - Open skies - in summer 2016.
