Ukraine receives first greetings on its upcoming Independence Day

In 2016, Ukraine celebrates 25th anniversary of independence

Ukraine starts receiving congratulations on 25th anniversary of independence. The United Kingdm was the first to send its greetings. The employees of the British Embassy to Ukraine recorded a video devoted to the upcoming holiday. Both British and Ukrainian employees read a fragment from 'Marusya Churay', a poem by Lina Kostenko, outstanding Ukrainian poet.

Lithuania's president Dalia Grybauskaite has also published a video message. Speaking Ukrainian herself, Grybauskaite called the Ukrainians to unity.

Dalia Grybauskaite, President of Lithuania: "Dear Ukrainians! From pure heart I congratulate you all on the Independence day. Stay united on your difficult and challenging way to democratic reforms. You should create your destiny yourselves and inspire others. You, the people of your country, deserve a better future you have been dreaming about. You are on the right way. Lithuania deeply supports you. Glory to Ukraine!"
