Ukraine's renowned opera singer and director Dmytro Hnatyuk dies

The legendary artist passed away at the age of 91

On Friday, April 29, a famous Ukrainian opera singer Dmytro Hnatyuk died after a long fight with an illness. Dmytro Hnatyuk was 91 years old.

Hnatyuk's repertoire comprised more than 85 pieces of both Ukrainian and world classics – from Ukrainian composer Sydir Vorobkevych to Austrian Joseph Haydn.

In the previous year, the National Music Academy of Ukraine celebrated the 90th anniversary of the performer of famous 'Two colors' and 'My Kyiv' songs.

Ukrainians will pay their last respects to the people's artist on May 4 in the National Opera building.

Dmytro Hnatyuk will be buried at the Baikove Cemetery in Kyiv.
