Ukraine's security service bans Russian journalist

Otar Kushanashvili cannot enter Ukrainian territory for the next three years

Ukraine's security service has banned a scandalous Russian journalist from entering the country. Officials say Otar Kushanashvili is not going to be allowed to cross the Ukrainian border for the next three years.

Kushanashvili was invited to work at a radio station in Ukraine.

The spokeswomen for the country's security service Olena Hitlianska says the journalist's pro-Kremlin views, outspoken support of Putin's regime and strong criticism of Ukraine's internal politics drew attention of the authorities.

Hitlianska added the ban came in force because Kushanashvili's work in Ukraine would hinder the interests of the country.
