The newly created corporation combines all Ukraine's aircraft manufacturing enterprises into a single cluster

Ukraine's major state-owned arms manufacturer Ukroboronprom has created the Ukrainian Aircraft Corporation within its structure, thereby combining all aircraft manufacturing enterprises of the country into a single cluster, according to the concern's press service.

As noted, the State Enterprise Antonov will be the corporation's core enterprise. In addition, the corporation includes specialized research institutes, Novator state-owned enterprise, Kharkiv machine-building plant FED, Kharkiv Aggregate Design Bureau, and PJSC Plant Mayak. Ukroboronprom says that the formation of this cluster is an advanced practice successfully implemented by worldwide aircraft giants, such as Boeing and Airbus. Ukrainian cluster will also be built according to the standard world scheme, and open to other enterprises of any form of ownership.

Commenting on the decision, Ukroboronprom CEO Roman Romanov has stressed that the cluster will make the Ukrainian aviation industry a single powerful mechanism with a clear development coordination and provide an opportunity to integrate into the world market through the introduction of international standards of production and management. In addition, it will accelerate the process of import substitution and give a new impetus to scientific and technological development of the country as a whole.

"We'll get a positive economic effect by combining together production facilities of corporation's members and reducing the management levels and duplicating services," Ukroboronprom's press service quoted Romanov. According to Ukroboronprom, the cluster will introduce common mechanisms of planning mass production, create a single center of procurement of materials and components, unify product marketing and ensure sales.
