Ukrainian policemen to study English

600 Ukrainian patrol policemen will undergo a free English course provided by the British Council 

Ukrainian policemen will be studying English for 7 months as part of the project "English Language for patrol policemen". 14 specialist from the British Council with an aid from the US Embassy will be working with Ukrainian law enforcement officers, the Patrol Police of Ukraine posted on Facebook. 

The ambassador of the United Kingdom in Ukraine, Judith Gough, said that 14 teachers will be involved in the project and will help Ukrainian policemen to master the language. 

"We are expecting that this project will help policemen in their work and will improve the image of Ukraine abroad", said the ambassador of USA in Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.

The organizers believe that this initiative will improve the quality of services provided by policemen. 

"The aim of the project is to make Kyiv friendlier for foreign tourists and safer for business guests and investors," the Patrol Police of Ukraine announcement reads.

The course will demand 120 hours. Patrol policemen will have to devote their free time for the English course.
