Thousands of Ukrainian fans waiting for world-famous sequel launch
The Ukrainian translation of the biggest book of the summer, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child from the J.K.Rowling's best selling series, will be released in October 2016. That's according to Ivan Malkovych, the director of the A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA publishing house.
"We have already purchased the rights. I hope [translator] Viktor Morozov will start working on the book today following the old tradition," the published told Hromadske.
"We have to do our work thoroughly, and we hope it will happen in October," Malkovych added.
A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA presented the Ukrainian translation of the first Harry Potter book in 2002. Since then, the publisher has released all the books in the series, including spin-offs. A-BA-BA-HA-LA-MA-HA's editions of the last three books were among the first translations in the world to be published.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. It premiered at London's Palace Theatre on July 30, and became available in bookstores the next day.
The plot takes place 19 years after the battle described in the previous novel. Harry Potter has three children. He works for the Ministry of Magic, and one of his sons Albus is trying to cope with the popularity he inherited from his father.
