White magnolias start blooming in Ukraine's capital (photo gallery)

The early magnolia blossom is caused by warm weather 

A real spring has come to Ukraine, as white magnolias started blooming in Kyiv's National Botanical Garden two weeks earlier than they normally do.

According to experts, magnolia blossom in early April is a pretty rare thing, caused by an unexpectedly warm weather.

The magnolia tree first appeared on Earth more than 100 million years ago.

The tree was brought to Ukraine at the end of the 19th century, first to western Ukraine and then Crimea.
