Donetsk-born Verniaiev wins parallel bars gold for Ukraine

Ukrainian gymnast claims his second Olympic medal

Ukraine's Oleg Verniaiev has won his second Olympic medal of the Rio Games, claiming gold in parallel bars and leaving US' Danell Leyva with the second place. 

Bronze was claimed by Russia's David Belyavsky. He is the second Russian gymnast ever to win an Olympic medal on parallel bars.

This is the sixth medal for Ukraine. Its previous achievements include four silvers and one bronze.

Ukrainian shooter Sergii Kulish won a silver medal in men's 10-metre air rifle. 

Gymnast Oleg Verniaiev won the second silver medal for Ukraine at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.

Two more awards were gained in fencing, a bronze of Olga Kharlan in individual sabre fencing and silver in women's team sabre fencing.
