Swimming World Cup 2016: Ukrainians have won 5 medals, 2 gold

Mykhailo Romanchuk hit the previous 1500-meter World Cup record

At the 2016 FINA World Cup Singapore, Ukrainian sportspersons Mykhailo Romanchuk and Daryna Zevina have already gained 5 medals, according to Ukraine's National Olympic Committee.

Mykhailo Romanchuk has won 2 gold medals in 400 and 1500-meter freestyle. He swept past the existing world cup record in the finals of the men's 1500 freestyle, delivering a final time of 14:15.49 and surpassing the old record by over twelve seconds.

Daryna Zevina managed three silvers in women's 50, 100 and 200-meter backstroke. On August 26, she also set a new record on the first day of the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup 2016 Paris-Chartres (France) delivering a result in women's 200-meter backstroke - 1:59.35. 

The third and final Cluster of the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup 2016 kicked-off on October 21 in Singapore on it's seventh leg, with two more stops to go in Tokyo and Hong Kong.
