Ukrainian diver captures gold at London Aquatics Championships

Illya Kvasha claims the sixth LEN European Aquatics Championships men's one metre springboard title of his career

Ukrainian diver Illya Kvasha won a gold medal at London 2016 European Aquatics Championships that is taking place in England on May 9-22, according to the press service of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

The 28-year-old Ukrainian athlete, known as 2015 World Championship silver medalist, won men's one metre springboard six-dive competition with the total score of 439.70 points, with Italy's Giovanni Tocci finishing on 414.30 to win silver. Austrian athlete Constantin Blaha (401.55) came third.

Ukrainians Yuliya Prokopchuk and Oleksander Horshkovozov won silver medals at the team springboard diving competition.
