Ukrainian teen wins VIII International swim across Dnipro River

Kyiv resident Petro Galaychuk comes in first

A 17-year-old resident of Kyiv Petro Galaychuk won the VIII International swim across the Dnipro River, which was held in the city of Cherkassy on August 6.

Galaychuk was the first to finish the 10km race, it took the swimmer 2 hours and 7 minutes to cross the Dnipro.

The second was 21-year-old Maryna Sokolova, also from Kyiv. She crossed the Dnipro in 2 hours and 10 minutes.

The bronze was won by the 49-year-old father of the race winner – Bohdan Galaychuk, who swam the distance in 2 hours 12 minutes.

In general about 100 athletes from Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy took part in the annual competition.

The swimmers started in the village of Blahodatne of Cherkasy region, and finished at the Cherkasy city beach.
