International robotic cars hit the tracks in Lviv

Robotic cars competed at one of the most challenging tracks in Ukraine for the "Polytechnic Cup"

The robotic car, presented by students from the Prykarpatsky National University, won the final race, which took place this weekend in Lviv.

The cars competed on an extremely challenging track, which represented a two-storey figure of "8" track with squared corners.

To win, the entirely autonomous robotic car equipped with special controllers, independent power supply, and programmed intellect, had to win travelling the 10 kilometers track. Before the competition, robotic cars had to undergo certification and tests, which would identify the cars' capacities to speed along self-sufficiently on the track. The racing had restrictions - the cars had to weigh no more than 3 kilograms.

20 teams from Ukraine and Belarus took part in the competition for "the Polytechnic Cup", but only 13 had been shortlisted for the finals. It was the fourth time the Ukrainian university, "Lviv Polytechnic", had hosted the event.
