We've done it! The first mechanical heart in Ukraine has been transplanted in the Heart Center", Todurov posted on Facebook.
He says, the implant allows patients with difficult heart conditions to survive and wait for the needed donor organ. The device has no expiration date, and some people have lived for more than 8 years with it already.
Ukrainian journalist Iryna Markevych has posted the photos of the implant on her Facebook page. A video story from her is about to arrive shortly after.
