Power-producing households can even earn money by selling their energy

Ukrainians increase the use of sun power stations fivefold, the nation's governmental energy agency official Sergey Savchuk says, the UNIAN reports.

During the last 9 months, the number of stations in Ukrainian households reached 625, according to his statement.

Such a huge interest to clean sources is explained by the "green" prices for energy produced by sun installations or wind turbines. It provides an opportunity for households to consume less energy and sell the extra quantities to the network, thus earning money, says the official.

The households that installed the solar power stations in 2016, can sell the extra energy for 19.01 euro cents per 1 kilowatt-hour.

Also, after the Crimean annexation by Russia in 2014, Ukraine successfully increased the production of biomass energy by 25%.
